Lucy Liu is an American actress voice actress director producer and vocalist. A beautiful, smart and talented actor, she's an model for Asian actors who want to be big stars in Hollywood. After a series of appearances on popular television series her name was a household name when she was cast in the Ally McBeal legal comedy where she portrayed Ling Woo. Her new-found fame was translated into roles that were filmed on the large screen, in Shanghai Noon, Charlie's Angels as well as other movies. She delivered a stunning performance in the role of Japanese gangster O-Ren Ishii (Quentin Tarantino) in Kill Bill Volume 1 by Quentin Tarantino. In this period she also acted as the lead in some failures in the field such as Rise: Blood Hunter. Then she began voicing characters from animated films such as Kung Fu Panda or Tinker Bell. Mia Mason's role on Cashmere Mafia, a small screen movie, did not bring about the results. Southland was a critically-acclaimed crime-drama - established Liu as an actress of the future. Liu takes great care in selecting her roles, so she doesn't get typecast. Liu has accepted her Chinese roots but she doesn't allow it to hinder her creative abilities.
