Because of her distinctiveness and vocal talent, she has received high praise and a variety of awards. She has also been awarded the Grammy Award a record three times. In addition, she has appeared on film and television. She also wrote the children's book River Rose and the Magical Lullaby as well as been a part of numerous charities.
