Lisa Edelstein is an American actor, most famous for her work in the Fox medical drama, House. Raised in Wayne with a strict Jewish tradition, she moved into New York City at the age of 18 to pursue studies in theatre at Tisch School of Arts. She was very active in the club scene in New York City and did enough to get heard in the press. While doing so she began to become aware of AIDS its devastating consequences. She used both her training in music and fame to make and appear in a new musical, Positive Me. In the following months, she got a job at MTV, hosting Awake in the Wild Side. When the show ended, she went on to join the film and TV productions. The first time she worked, she was able to get small parts and established herself slowly as an actor.
